Video - performance o 19:00 a diskusia o 19,10.

Po predstavení bude nasledovať diskusia performera Ícaro Pio so slovenským performerom Jarom Viňarským

A čo v tom máme či nemáme spoločné?

Tento večer je súčasťou série podujatí My culure, your culture, our culture na tému multikulturalizmu organizovaných našou dobrovoľníčkou Lunou Mafo. Podujatia budú v angličtine, respektíve s anglickými titulkami.

Čo to znamená byť z určitého miesta? Čím sme „odtiaľto“ a nie „odtiaľ“? čo vlastne znamená tu? Je to miesto? Tradícia? Jazyk?

Video-performance

In Confinado, Desconfinado, Brazilian performer Ícaro Pio weaves an online monologue with elements of poetry slam to bring up a discussion about the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the Brazilian territory. The biological virus, the political virus, and the historical virus all come to the front as the performer pleads for air from the confinement of a white room.

The performance is the last in the series my culture, your culture, our culture, and will be the starting point for a post discussion on the current state of affairs in Brazil and Slovakia regarding the pandemic.

The video-performance is in Portuguese, with English subtitles, and lasts around 8 min.

Ícaro Pio is an actor, director, playwright, and art-educator who graduated from ETEC School of Arts. He is part of the collective coletivA Ocupação and founder of the production company Madrugada Filmes. Confinado, Desconfinado /  Confined, Unconfined (8min)

discussion with Ícaro Pio and Jaro Viňarský (1h)

The entire world is fighting against a virus, but what exactly does this virus represent? Parting from Ícaro’s performance (Confinado, Desconfinado) both Ícaro (Brazil) and Jaro (Slovakia) will engage in a discussion about disease, death, democracy, and what comes next. How do bodies in Brazil and Slovakia experience this virus? In what ways do they relate (or not)?

The discussion is expected to take around 1h and shall be conducted as a free-flowing conversation between Ícaro and Jaro. Luna Mafo will be the moderator, who will sometimes suggest some games and activities to trigger the conversation. Do not expect 1h of only talking.

Ícaro Pio is an actor, director, playwright, and art-educator who graduated from ETEC School of Arts. He is part of the collective coletivA Ocupação and founder of the production company Madrugada Filmes. Since 2018 he has been touring around Brazil and Europe with the award-winning play When It Breaks, It Burns (coletivA Ocupação).
