Biodiversity vs. invasive plants - discussion in English

Discussion about biodiversity and invasive plants with experts from France and Slovakia. The discussion is part of an international workshop and symposium on ecology, activism, and public space.

French phytologist Thierry Thévenin will discuss with Katarína Skokanová, a scientific researcher from the Centre for Plant Biology and Biodiversity of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. The presentation and discussion will be conducted in English.

The focus will be on raising awareness about invasive plants and their destructive impact on biodiversity, as well as their potential uses.

Currently, we are hosting around 30 participants from various European countries for a week-long educational-discussion-creative stay as part of the extensive international project "Rebuilding To Last" at the Station. You can join the project for free—participating in increasing biodiversity, experimenting, creating new green spaces in public areas under Rondel, addressing rainwater retention at the Station, and collaborating with artists and landscape architects to create an art installation in public spaces near the underpass and unauthorized parking area under the Rondel overpass.

Attendance at the discussion is voluntary.

Diskusia v angličtine o biodiverzite a inváznych rastlinách s odborníkmi z Francúzska a Slovenska. Diskusia je súčasťou medzinárodného workshopu a sympózia o ekológii, aktivizme a verejnom priestore.

Diskutovať bude francúzsky fytológ Thierry Thévenin s vedeckou pracovníčkou Centra biológie rastlín a biodiverzity SAV Katarínou Skokanovou. Prezentácia a diskusia bude v angličtine.

Okrem základnej osvety ohľadom inváznych rastlín a ich deštruktívnom vplyve na biodiverzitu aj o ich možnom potenciály.

Na Stanici hosťujeme v týchto dňoch približne 30 účastníkov z viacerých krajín Európy na týždennom vzdelávaco-diskusno-tvorivom pobyte v rámci rozsiahleho medzinárodného projektu Rebuilding To Last. Do projektu na Stanici sa môžete bezplatne zapojiť – budeme zvyšovať biodiverzitu, experimentovať, tvoriť nové zelené plochy vo verejnom priestore pod Rondlom, riešiť zadržiavanie dažďovej vody na Stanici a spoločne s umelcami a krajinnými architektmi vznikne umelecká inštalácia vo verejnom priestore pri podchode a nelegálnom parkovisku pod nadjazdom Rondel.
